Sri Lanka is a bountiful land blessed with many natural wonders and sights that serve as a showcase of this tropical island’s incredible beauty. Travelling to Nuwara Eliya will present visitors with the chance to visit numerous nature related attractions, including waterfalls. St. Clair’s falls is visible when travelling on the main road from Avissawell to Nuwara Eliya and is one of the more famous waterfalls in Sri Lanka. It is a pleasing sight to all who behold it as not only is St. Clair’s present a beautiful natural work of water in motion, but it is set on the canvas of the lush green mountainside that it is nestled in.

It is also the widest waterfall in all of Sri Lanka which has earned it the name “Little Niagara of Sri Lanka”. The name St Clair’s which was bestowed upon this magnificent natural phenomenon was actually borrowed from a nearby tea estate.Being 80 metres high, it is the 20th highest waterfall in all of Sri Lanka. St. Clair’s Falls is actually consists of two falls which are known as Maha Ella (The Greater Fall) and Kuda Ella (The Lesser Fall).
